Deploying SharePoint 2010 in a three tier farm and SQL Server 2008 R2 issues

I decided to create a three tier farm using SharePoint 2010 and while trying to join a Web Frontend server to the farm I got several error messages. The first one occurred because of the (missing) Named Pipes Provider, the second one because of a wrong PowerShell parameter I used and the third on occurred because of my Firewall settings. [More]
