Content Generator is a professional site provisioning tool that allows the automatic creation of SharePoint content and structure including list items, documents, lists, pages, sites and sub site collections. With an easy to use editor, jobs and templates it enables you to recreate content on different SharePoint farms. Content Generator gives your software engineers the ability to develop in a - real world - environment which is similar to your customers’ information architecture. How it works
Step A covers the usual development process of a custom SharePoint solution including deployment to a farm and testing. Content Generator adds additional benefit by connecting to your SharePoint site collection in order to get site-, page- and list templates. Now you can create with an easy to use editor a content hierarchy shown in step B. You can recreate the hierarchy in your development environment with predefined content shown in step C allowing you to develop and test with real world content. You can also recreate the content on different SharePoint farms shown in step D where your custom solution is deployed.
