Windows Server 2008 and Bluetooth

Windows Server 2008 is a great operating system... especially the 64bit version.

Windows Server 2008 Homepage with a cool picture showing a server transformer.

But why?

  • The driver support is great... you can use the Vista drivers ;)
  • The applications runs fast without any problems.
  • I can use all of my 4GB RAM :)
  • Features are not activated by default, you activate them if you need them.
  • The Citrix client is running. (If you have to use VPN clients you should think about a second operating system -> Windows XP)

And yes, Bluetooth is running... I got it working without any problems on a DELL 630:

Bluetooth is working on a Windows Server 2008 installation.

  1. Install the "Dell_Wireless-360-Module-wit_A01_R155463.exe"... (x64 in my case)
  2. Reboot... (If Windows detects new hardware after reboot DON'T install them)
  3. Install the "Toshiba Bluetooth Stack" for Windows Vista...
  4. Reboot....
  5. Wait until every hardware is installed correctly...
  6. Ready.

It works great...
