I can't say why but it's not working. Although I have the Windows Service running (the German version as you can see in the image).

In the screenshot you can see the Windows service of Lotus Notes:

The SNotes Single Sign On service running in german.

And I have configured Notes to accept my operating system credentials.

Maybe it's the German service running in the background or the 64bit operating system.

Setting the Lotus Notes properties to use my system login for single sign on.

If I have figured out I will post a solution. If someone knows please write a comment.

Gruss
Andreas

Unable to get many notes features on Server 2k8 R2...
...until installing Notes 8.5.1!
Now all - including single sign on - works as it should.

No I didn't know... besides the mentioned problem I worked like a charm.

Anyway good to know.

Supported OS are currently:

Windows XP (Version 8.5.1)
Windows Vista (Version 8.5.1)
Windows 7 (Version 8.5.1 FP1)

like written here:
Lotus Notes 8.5.1 - Detailed system requirements
www-01.ibm.com/.../docview.wss

So there is no support to install the Lotus Notes Client on a Server OS. Why is the client installed on a Server? Whats the benefit from it?!?!

Hi Bernd,

yes there is usually no reason to install the client on the server...

I'm using Windows Server 2008 as the operating system on my laptop with the Hyper-V role enabled to virtualize my SharePoint development environment. Since my company is using Lotus Notes for mail I have to install it on my operating system too. There are a few applications within Notes I can't use without the client.

Regards,
Andreas

Hi,

a good reason to install the client on the server is if you are running it on a Terminal Server. We do so. And even 8.51 is installed single logon not running... service is started.

Any suggestions?

I still have the same problem... Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta and Notes 8.51.

I have now installed Lotus Notes client 8.5.1 FP3 on Server 2008 R2 Standard.
Lotus Notes Single Logon service is running.
Single Sign on enabled in Lotus Notes klient.

Still Single Sign OT working.

I also know this solution is not supported, but we are using it as a Terminal Server.

Any suggestions would be appriciated ;o)

OK, seems Single Sign On is not running on 64 bit OS.
Per Notes support Shared Login should be used, BUT this absolutely has several disadvantages (my point of view). Not an usable workaround for us. ;o(

Shared Login works perfect for us:

Citrix Xenapp 5.0 on Windows 2003 64-Bit with Lotus Notes 8.5.1 --> Works
Windows 7 64-Bit with Lotus Notes 8.5.1 --> Works

So no password required, yay!
